Public administration reform continues in Georgia

Public administration reform continues in Georgia

The Government of Georgia is continuing its efforts to reform public administration in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public service provision in the country.

The Public Service Development Agency is playing a crucial role in this reform process through the provision of public services.

As part of this reform effort, the Agency has launched a training program on the creation and provision of high-quality public services, as well as research into customer satisfaction. To date, approximately 60 representatives from public service provider agencies have completed an online training course in this area. This reform initiative is being supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the government of the United Kingdom.

By mid-March 2022, an additional 10 training sessions are planned, specifically on the development (design) of services, provision of public services, customer satisfaction surveys, a unified common assessment framework (CAF) and methodologies for assessing public services.

It is significant that, as part of the public administration reform, at the initiative of the Public Service Development Agency, in collaboration with local and international experts, a comprehensive strategy for the development, provision and quality assurance of public services will be approved for the first time in Georgia. Furthermore, the manuals and training materials included in the strategy will be enhanced and implemented.

As a result of this reform, by enhancing the public service system, more accessible services will be offered to all Georgian citizens.
