The Public Service Development Agency of the Ministry of Justice continuously monitors new international standards regarding the reliability and security of travel documents in order to offer customers further improved and trustworthy services.
Rusudan Kokhodze, Chairwoman of the Public Service Development Agency, and her Deputy, Vladimir Sichinava, participated in the 20th Anniversary Traveller Identification Programme (TRIP) Symposium held at the Headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada.
Within the framework of the event, Agency representatives familiarized themselves with the latest technical and legal standards for the security of electronic travel documents and modern passenger identification systems. In parallel with the symposium, an exhibition was held featuring technological innovations in passenger identification and document security.
Georgia has maintained close cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization for years and is a member state of the ICAO Public Key Directory (PKD). This directory secures the Country Signing Certification Authority (CSCA) certificates, which verify the authenticity of biometric passports and electronic identity cards.
Since the Public Service Development Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia began issuing new-generation biometric passports with an updated design in October of this year, the Chairperson of the Agency officially handed over the country’s new certificates to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The Public Service Development Agency remains committed to developing reliable and secure services within the country, keeping pace with modern technologies and innovations.
