Migration/Residence Permits
    • An alien shall apply to the Agency for a Georgian residence permit 40 calendar days before his/her lawful stay in the territory of Georgia expires. (This requirement shall not apply to a lifelong residence permit, an investment residence permit, a special residence permit, a temporary residence permit (residence permit for victims of domestic violence), a short-term residence permit and a temporary residence permit for a person engaged in the Information Technology (IT) (hereinafter referred to as the “IT residence permit”), and to an alien staying in another country who, for the purpose of extending the validity of his/her Georgian residence permit, wishes to apply to the Agency in an electronic form.
    • A Georgian residence permit shall be issued to an alien staying lawfully in Georgia who meets the requirements of the Law of Georgia on Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons.
    • An asylum seeker shall not be considered as a person lawfully staying in Georgia for the purposes of issuance of a residence permit in Georgia.
    • A Georgian residence permit shall not be issued to an alien who, at the time of applying for a Georgian residence permit, is staying in Georgia on the basis of the postponement of the obligation to leave Georgia.
    • A Georgian residence permit (except for an investment residence permit, a special residence permit, a temporary residence permit/a residence permit for victims of domestic violence provided for under subparagraph “h” of Article 15 of the Law of Georgia on Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons, and an IT residence permit) shall not be issued on the basis of category C ordinary visa.
    • A Georgian residence permit (except for an investment residence permit, a special residence permit, a temporary residence permit/a residence permit for victims of domestic violence provided for under subparagraph “h” of Article 15 of the Law of Georgia on Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons, and an IT residence permit) shall not be issued to an alien who is straying in Georgia in the manner provided for under paragraph 31 of Article 10 of the same Law (to an alien who is staying in Georgia on the basis of a visa and/or residence permit of a country defined by Ordinance #256 dated 5 June 2015 of the Government of Georgia).
    • An alien staying lawfully in Georgia who holds any type of residence permit provided for under the Law of Georgia on Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons shall have the right to apply to the Agency for another type of residence permit, provided that he/she meets the requirements for issuance of a respective residence permit.

  • Work residence permit is issued to a labour immigrant registered with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia or to an alien carrying out entrepreneurial activities in Georgia in a manner prescribed by the legislation of Georgia .

    To obtain a work residence permit, a labour immigrant registered with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia or an alien carrying out entrepreneurial activities in Georgia in a manner prescribed by the legislation of Georgia shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form, which alongside with other data shall include a unique code conferred during registration of a labour immigrant in the dedicated electronic system of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Document proving employment or entrepreneurial activity in Georgia (labour contract or any other proof of employment document);
    5. e) Document confirming that an alien’s monthly income/remuneration earned from entrepreneurial or labour activities in Georgia is not less than the fivefold amount of the minimum subsistence level for the average consumer in Georgia. If the legal income of an alien cannot be proven with the documents of entrepreneurial or labour activities in Georgia (labour contract or any other proof of employment document), money deposited to an alien’s personal bank account may also be considered as an income (including a reference issued by a bank); taking into account the validity term of the work residence permit, the monthly amount of the money in an alien’s personal bank account should not be less than the fivefold amount of the minimum subsistence level for the average consumer in Georgia;
    6. f) Document issued by the LEPL Revenue Service proving that annual turnover of an alien’s employer/an enterprise founded by an alien (except for educational institutions or medical facilities) is not less than GEL 50 000 per alien seeking a work residence permit, and annual turnover of an educational institution or a medical facility is at least GEL 35 000 per each alien seeking a work residence permit;
    7. g) Certificate regarding the number of aliens working for an aliens’ employer/an enterprise founded by an alien and seeking a work residence permit;
    8. h) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    9. i) Proof of payment of the fee.

    If the registration of a labour immigrant in the special electronic system of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia cannot be verified by the code indicated in the application, the Agency may request submission of a document proving the registration with the above-mentioned Ministry.

    If an alien’s employer/an enterprise founded by an alien is not registered as a VAT payer, instead of the document of annual turnover of an employer issued by the Revenue Service, an alien shall submit to the Agency an appropriate certificate or certificates issued by a competent authority/entity proving that:

    1. a) an alien’s employer/an enterprise founded by an alien is not registered as a VAT payer;
    2. b) the turnover for 12 consecutive calendar months prior to the issuance of the certificate is not less than GEL 50 000 per alien seeking a work residence permit, and in the case of an alien’s employing educational institution or medical facility/educational institution or medical facility founded by an alien is at least GEL 35 000.

    If the above certificates cannot be produced for objective reasons, instead of them an alien may submit to the Agency any other certificate or proof which undoubtedly confirms the existence of conditions for issuance of a work residence permit established by law.

  • Study residence permit is issued for the purpose of studying at an authorized educational institution in Georgia.

    To obtain a study residence permit, an alien shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Certificate issued by an authorized educational institution in Georgia confirming that alien is studying at that institution (indicating the anticipated duration of study);
    5. e) Document evidencing legal income earned in Georgia by an alien and/or by a Georgian citizen or by his/her relative having the right of residence in Georgia and confirming kinship with that person. Money deposited to an alien’s personal bank account may also be considered as income; taking into account the validity term of study residence permit, the monthly amount of the money in an alien’s personal bank account should not be less than the double amount of the minimum subsistence level for the average consumer in Georgia;
    6. f) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form; g) Proof of payment of the fee.

  • Residence permit for the purpose of family reunification is issued to family members of an alien holding a residence permit.

    To obtain a residence permit for the purpose of family reunification, an alien shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Proof of kinship;
    5. e) Document evidencing legal income earned in Georgia by an alien and/or by a Georgian citizen or by his/her relative having the right of residence in Georgia. Money deposited to an alien’s personal bank account may also be considered as income. Taking into account the validity term of residence permit for the purpose of family reunification, the monthly amount of the money in an alien’s personal bank account should not be less than the double amount of the minimum subsistence level for the average consumer in Georgia;
    6. f) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form; g) Proof of payment of the fee.

    Residence permit application form

    Apply online for residence permit for family reunification

  • Residence permit of a former citizen of Georgia is issued to an alien whose citizenship of Georgia has been terminated.

    To obtain a residence permit of a former citizen of Georgia, an alien whose citizenship of Georgia has been terminated shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Copy of a document of termination of citizenship of Georgia;
    5. e) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form; f) Proof of payment of the fee.

    To obtain a residence permit of a former citizen of Georgia, an alien whose citizenship of Georgia has been terminated but he/she has not left the territory of Georgia is not required to submit a copy of the document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia.

    Apply online for residence permit of a former citizen of Georgia

  • Residence permit of a stateless person is issued to an individual whose status of statelessness has been determined in Georgia.v

  • A special residence permit is issued to an alien who is reasonably suspected to be a victim of, or affected by, the crime of trading in persons (human trafficking) in the cases provided for by the Law of Georgia on Combating Trading in Persons (Human Trafficking), to an alien in respect of whom a member of the Government of Georgia submits a written initiative on the issuance of a temporary Georgian residence permit, to persons referred to in Article 60 of this Law, and to a foreign citizen who has a status of compatriot living abroad.

    1. To obtain a special residence permit on the initiative of the member of the Government of Georgia, an alien must submit to the Agency:
    • an application in the established form;
    • a copy of the alien’s travel document;
    • a written application of the member of the Government of Georgia;
    • a copy of the document confirming lawful stay in Georgia;
    • a 3×4 cm size colour photo in an electronic form.
    1. When issuing a special residence permit to a victim of, or a person affected by, the crime of trading in persons (human trafficking) – a petition from the agency providing services to the victims of trading in persons (human trafficking) or from the authority conducting the proceeding;
    2. To obtain a special residence permit, an alien who has a status of compatriot living abroad must submit to the Agency
    • an application in the established form;
    • a copy of the alien’s travel document;
    • a copy of the document confirming lawful stay in Georgia;
    • a copy of the document confirming the status of the compatriot living abroad;
    • a 3×4 cm size colour photo in an electronic form.
    1. To obtain a special residence permit, persons referred to in Article 60 of the Law of Georgia on Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons (persons who cannot be removed from Georgia) must submit to the Agency:
    • an application in the established form;
    • a copy of the alien’s travel document (if any);
    • a copy of an active temporary identification card;
    • a certificate issued by an authozed body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia prior to applying for a special residence permit confirming the fact of the right to temporary residence in Georgia for 5 years;
    • a 3×4 cm size colour photo in an electronic form;
    • a receipt confirming payment of the service fee.
    1. To extend a special residence permit, persons referred to in Article 60 of the Law of Georgia on Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons (persons who cananot be removed from Georgia) must submit to the Agency:
    • an application in the established form
    • a copy of the alien’s travel document (if any);
    • a copy of an active temporary identification card;
    • an application of the authorized body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for extension of a special residence permit;
    • a 3×4 cm size colour photo in an electronic form;
    • a receipt confirming payment of the service fee.

    Service terms and fees

    On the initiative of a member of the government of Georgia, for a victim of, or a person affected by, the crime of trading in persons (human trafficking), as well as for foreign citizens having a status of compatriot:

  • A permanent residence permit is issued to the spouse and minor child of a citizen of Georgia, as well as to a parent of a minor citizen of Georgia. Additionally, a permanent residence permit shall be granted to an alien who has lived in Georgia for the last 10 years based on a temporary residence permit. This period does not include time spent in Georgia for study or medical treatment, nor does it include time spent working at diplomatic or equivalent missions.

    To obtain a permanent residence permit, an alien shall submit the following document to the Agency:

    1. a) To issue a permanent living permit to a spouse, a minor child of a citizen of Georgia, or to a parent of a minor citizen of Georgia:

    a.a) Approved application form;

    a.b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;

    a.c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;

    a.d) Proof of kinship with a citizen of Georgia;

    a.e) Document evidencing legal income earned in Georgia by an alien and/or by a Georgian citizen or his/her relative having the right of residence in Georgia. If a Georgian citizen has reached to  retirement age or receives social benefits –  document evidencing the receipt of a state pension or social benefits. The money in an alien’s personal bank account may also be deemed as income;

    a.f) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;

    a.g) Proof of payment of the fee.

    1. b) To issue a permanent living permit to an alien who has lived in Georgia for the last 10 years on the basis of a temporary residence permit:

    b.a) Approved application form;

    b.b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;

    b.c) Document proving that an alien has lived in Georgia for the last 10 years on the basis of a temporary residence permit (Copy of a temporary residence card/permit in Georgia);

    b.d) Document evidencing legal income earned in Georgia by an alien and/or by a Georgian citizen or his/her relative having the right of residence in Georgia and confirming kinship with this person. If a Georgian citizen is of retirement age or receives social security benefits –  document evidencing the receipt of a state pension or social security benefits. The money in an alien’s personal bank account may also be deemed as income;

    b.e) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;

    b.f) Proof of payment of the fee.

  • Investment residence permit is issued to an alien and his/her family members, who has made an investment in Georgia in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Promotion and Guarantees of Investment Activity, or who has the title to an immovable thing in the territory of Georgia in a manner prescribed by the legislation of Georgia. For issuance of an investment residence permit, the market value of an immovable thing shall be determined by a certified assessor of a body accredited by the LEPL Unified National Body of Accreditation –Accreditation Centre. For the purposes of this subparagraph, family members of an alien shall be: his/her spouse, a minor child, and a fully dependent beneficiary of support or a disabled person, and an alien’s fully dependent person recognised as legally incompetent in a manner prescribed by the legislation of a country in question.

    To obtain an investment residence permit, an alien shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Document evidencing at least USD 300 000 investment made in Georgia (audit report by a certified auditor) or a document of title to an immovable thing (except for agricultural land) in the territory of Georgia, with the market value exceeding USD 300 000 equivalent in GEL;
    5. e) Document proving the market value of an immovable thing provided as the basis for an investment residence permit (a report of a certified assessor accredited by the LEPL Unified National Body of Accreditation – Accreditation Center);
    6. f) Written reference given by a member of the Government of Georgia or by 3 citizens of Georgia having the authority to represent a Georgia-based business entity;
    7. g) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    8. h) Proof of payment of the fee.

     

    An alien holding an investment residence permit based on the investment made in the amount of USD 300 000 shall, in the case of making an investment, during the period of holding an investment residence permit and before expiration of each year of the validity of an investment residence permit, annually submit to the Agency information on the annual turnover of his/her entrepreneurial activities in Georgia issued by the LEPL Revenue Service which proves the annual turnover of at least USD 50 000 equivalent in GEL for the first year of the investment in Georgia, at least USD 100 000 equivalent in GEL for the second year, and at least USD 120 000 equivalent in GEL for the third, fourth and fifth years.

    To obtain an investment residence permit, family member of an alien holding an investment residence permit shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Copy of a residence permit of an alien holding an investment residence permit;
    5. e) Proof of kinship with an alien holding an investment residence permit;
    6. f) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    7. g) Proof of payment of the fee.

    Residence permit application form

  • Temporary residence permit is issued to an alien who, under the Law of Georgia on Elimination of Violence against Women and/or Domestic Violence, and the Protection and Support of Victims of such Violence, is a victim and for providing the protection of whom a restraining order or a protective order has been issued, and/or in relation to a fact of violence against women and/or domestic violence carried out against whom, acts of criminal prosecution have been in progress, and/or who employs services of the shelter for victims of violence against women and/or domestic violence or of the crisis centre.

     

    Temporary residence permit is issued based on the request of an institution providing services to victims of domestic violence or a body handling the proceedings.

  • Short-term residence permit is issued to an alien who, in a manner prescribed by the legislation of Georgia, has the title to an immovable property in the territory of Georgia (except for agricultural land) with its market value exceeding USD 150 000 equivalent in GEL, and to his/her spouse and a child/children. To grant a short-term residence permit, the market value of the real property shall be established by a certified assessor of a body accredited by the LEPL Unified National Body of Accreditation – Accreditation Centre.

    To obtain a short-term residence permit, an alien shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Document of title to an immovable property (except for agricultural land) in the territory of Georgia with the market value exceeding USD 150 000 equivalent in GEL;
    5. e) Document proving the market value of an immovable property given in sub-paragraph “d” of this paragraph (market value determined by a certified assessor of a body accredited by the LEPL Unified National Body of Accreditation – Accreditation Center);
    6. f) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    7. g) Proof of payment of the fee.

    To obtain a short-term residence permit, spouse and child/children of an alien holding a short-term residence permit shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Copy of a residence permit of an alien holding a short-term residence permit;
    5. e) Proof of kinship with an alien holding a short-term residence permit;
    6. f) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form.
    7. g) Proof of payment of the fee.

    Residence permit application form

    Apply online for short-term residence permit

  • Residence Permit  for indefinite stay  is issued to an alien and his/her family members, to whom an investment residence permit has been issued on the basis of an investment made in the amount of USD 300 000 equivalent in GEL, who has a proof of the annual turnover of at least USD 50 000 equivalent in GEL during the first year of the entrepreneurial activities he/she has carried out in Georgia; the annual turnover of at least USD 100 000 equivalent in GEL during the second year, and the turnover of at least USD 120 000 equivalent in GEL during the third, fourth and fifth years, or to an alien, and his/her family members, holding an investment residence permit issued on the basis of having ownership of an immovable property  worth exceeding the equivalent of USD 300 000  in GEL, who has the property right to this immovable property  for 5 years after he/she received the investment residence permit. For the purposes of this subparagraph, family members of an alien shall be: his/her spouse, a minor child, and a fully dependent beneficiary of support or a disabled person, and a fully dependent person recognised as legally incompetent in a manner prescribed by the legislation of a country concerned.

    To obtain the Residence Permit  for indefinite stay an alien holding an investment residence permit granted on the basis of an investment made in the amount of USD 300 000 equivalent in GEL for 5 years shall submit the following documents to the Agency before expiry of a 5-year term of an investment residence permit:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of an investment residence card/residence permit issued on the basis of an investment made in the amount of USD 300 000 equivalent in GEL;
    4. d) Information on the turnover during the fifth year after issuance of an investment residence permit proving the turnover of at least USD 120 000 equivalent in GEL during the fifth year of an alien’s entrepreneurial activities in Georgia;
    5. e) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    6. f) Proof of payment of the fee.

     

    To obtain a Residence Permit  for indefinite stay , an alien holding an investment residence permit granted on the basis of ownership of an immovable property in Georgia with the market value property  worth exceeding the equivalent of USD 300 000  in GEL for 5 years shall submit the following documents to the Agency before expiry of a 5-year term of an investment residence permit:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of an investment residence card/residence permit issued on the basis of owning an immovable property in Georgia with the market value exceeding the equivalent of USD 300 000 in GEL and a reference issued by the LEPL National Agency of Public Registry (hereinafter the “Public Registry”) on owning for a total of 5 years after granting of the residence permit of an immovable property  that served as the basis for granting the investment residence permit, or of an immovable  property substituted through the observance of the requirement provided for by the Law of Georgia on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons;
    4. e) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    5. e) Proof of payment of the fee.

    To obtain a Residence Permit  for indefinite stay , family member of an alien holding an investment residence permit shall submit the following documents to the Agency:

    1. a) Approved application form;
    2. b) Copy of an alien’s travel document;
    3. c) Copy of a document evidencing an alien’s lawful stay in Georgia;
    4. d) Copy of a residence permit of an alien holding an investment residence permit;
    5. e) Poof of kinship with an alien holding an investment residence permit;
    6. f) Color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    7. g) Proof of payment of the fee.

    Residence permit application form

  • A temporary residence permit of a person employed in the field of the Information Technology (IT) shall be issued to an immigrant worker registered with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, as well as to an alien who is registered in Georgia as an entrepreneurial natural person having the status of small business and conducts the activities in the field of the Information Technology (IT) as defined by the Decree of the Government of Georgia, also to persons authorized for administration and representation of an international company operating in Information technology (IT) sector, and to family members of an alien holding a residence permit issued to him/her on any of the three grounds mentioned above.

     

    1. For an alien immigrant worker employed in the field of the Information Technology (IT) who holds the right to work granted by the LEPL – State Employment Support Agency, to obtain a temporary residence permit, an alien must submit to the Agency:

    Approved application form, which alongside with other data shall include a unique code assigned by the LEPL – State Employment Support Agency;

    A copy of the alien’s travel document;

    A copy of the document confirming lawful stay in Georgia;

    A document confirming a total of not less than 2 years’ experience in conducting work or economic activities in the field of the Information Technology (IT), as defined by the International Labour Organization’s International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO-08) code 25 and its corresponding subcodes;

    A certificate confirming that the amount of remuneration he/she has received during the last one year as a result of conducting work or economic activities in the field of the Information Technology (IT) is not less than USD 25 000 equivalent in lari annually. The documents submitted must confirm the receipt of the remuneration not less than twice during the last one year, at least 30 days apart;

    Decision on granting the right to work (submission of the decision is not required if the information on holding the right to work granted by the LEPL – State Employment Support Agency can be verified through an electronic system)

    A 3×4 cm size colour photo in an electronic form;

    A receipt confirming payment of the service fee.

    1. To obtain a temporary residence permit of a person employed in the field of the Information Technology (IT), an alien who is registered in Georgia as an entrepreneurial natural person having the status of small business and conducts the activities in the field of the Information Technology (IT) as defined by the National Classification of Economic Activities of Georgia codes 58.21, 58.29, 62.01, 62.02, 62.03, 62.09, 63.1, and 63.12, must submit to the Agency:

    Approved application form, which alongside with other data shall include a unique code assigned by the LEPL – State Employment Support Agency;

    Documents confirming the availability of the status of small business and the conduct of work or economic activities in the field of the Information Technology (IT) in Georgia as defined by the National Classification of Economic Activities of Georgia codes 58.21, 58.29, 62.01, 62.02, 62.03, 62.09, 63.1, and 63.12;

    A copy of the alien’s travel document;

    A copy of the document confirming lawful stay in Georgia;

    A document confirming a total of not less than 2 years’ experience in conducting work or economic activities in the field of the Information Technology (IT);

    A certificate confirming that the amount of remuneration he/she has received during the last one year as a result of conducting work or economic activities in the field of the Information Technology (IT) is not less than USD 25 000 equivalent in lari annually. The documents submitted must confirm the receipt of the remuneration not less than twice during the last one year, at least 30 days apart;

    Decision on granting the right to work (submission of the decision is not required if the information on holding the right to work granted by the LEPL – State Employment Support Agency can be verified through an electronic system);

    A 3×4 cm size colour photo in an electronic form;

    A receipt confirming payment of the service fee.

    1. To obtain a temporary residence permit of a person employed in the field of the Information Technology (IT), an alien authorized for the administration and representation of an organization with the status of an international company operating in the field of the Information Technology (IT), who holds the right to carry out labour activities in Georgia, must submit to the Agency:

    Approved application form, which alongside with other data shall include a unique code assigned by the LEPL – State Employment Support Agency;

    A copy of the alien’s travel document;

    A copy of the document confirming lawful stay in Georgia;

    A document confirming the administration and representation of the organization with the status of an international company operating in the field of the Information Technology (IT);

    Decision on granting the right to work (submission of the decision is not required if the information on holding the right to work granted by the LEPL – State Employment Support Agency can be verified through an electronic system);

    A 3×4 cm size colour photo in an electronic form;

    A receipt confirming payment of the service fee.

    1. For a family member of an immigrant worker, an entrepreneurial natural person having the status of small business and a person authorized for the administration and representation of an organisation with the status of an international company operating in the field of the Information Technology (IT) to obtain a temporary residence permit, an alien must submit to the Agency:

    An application in the established form;

    A copy of the alien’s travel document;

    A copy of the document confirming lawful stay in Georgia;

    A copy of a residence permit of an alien holding a temporary residence permit for a person employed in the field of the Information Technology (IT);

    A document confirming the family connection with the alien having a temporary residence permit for a person employed in the field of the Information Technology (IT);

    A 3×4 cm size colour photo in an electronic form;

    A receipt confirming payment of the service fee.

    Please note: If it is impossible to verify the fact of the registration of an immigrant worker in the special electronic system of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia by the code specified in the application, the Agency shall be authorized to request from the applicant a document confirming the registration with the same Ministry.

    Important: For the purposes of issuance of an IT residence permit, the documents issued in another state must be submitted in a legalized or apostilled way, unless otherwise established by an international treaty or agreement. The said documents may be accepted in an electronic form, without submission of the original copies, if the authenticity of the fact of apostillisation or legalisation of that document can be checked through the appropriate electronic registry or by another means.

  • A legally capable citizen of Georgia of full legal age may submit an application for obtaining an emigration permit.

    An application shall be appended with the following documents:

    1. a) Copy of passport of citizen of Georgia;
    2. b) For persons aged from 18 to 27 – copy of a military service records or a certificate of postponement of conscription, exemption from conscription or exemption from military service;
    3. c) 2 color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    4. d) Proof of payment of the fee.

    A minor under 18 years of age may emigrate accompanied by his/her legal representative.

    An application for issuance of an emigration permit to a minor shall be appended with the following documents:

    1. a) Copy of passport of citizen of Georgia;
    2. b) Copy of birth certificate (copy of a foreign birth certificate must be duly legalized or Apostilled unless otherwise determined by an international treaty or agreement to which Georgia is a party);
    3. c) 2 color photo, 3×4 in size, in electronic form;
    4. d) Proof of payment of the fee.

    Emigration permit may be issued to a minor based on a notarized consent or a consent dully expressed electronically by his/her legal representative.

    To obtain an emigration permit you can apply to the Public Service Hall and the territorial offices of the Public Service Development Agency. If you are abroad, you can apply to Georgian diplomatic missions or consular offices abroad.

  • In accordance with the Law of Georgia on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons, an alien may have his/her obligation to leave Georgia deferred in the following cases:

    1. a) if he/she has applied to the Agency for either a residence permit in Georgia or the citizenship of Georgia;
    2. b) if he/she is sick or pregnant and according to the doctor’s opinion, further travel will pose a threat to his/her health. In that case, his/her family members and accompanying persons may stay with him/her;
    3. c) if proceedings are pending in the Common Courts of Georgia with his/her participation and if his/her stay in Georgia is essential for protecting his/her interests;
    4. d) if he/she is involuntarily staying in Georgia for more than 10 days during his/her transit through Georgia; in that case, the following shall be regarded as involuntary stay:

    d.a) natural conditions impeding the movement of trains, vehicles, ships, or airplanes;

    d.b) necessary repairs of means of transport or a traffic accident;

    d.c) delays in changing the means of transport;

    d.d) other cases where it is impossible to move from one place to another without impediment;

    1. e) on the basis of an application by a competent person of a Ministry of Georgia or a state sub-agency.

     

    In special circumstances, upon reasonable request, an alien’s obligation to leave Georgia may be deferred once, up to three months, for the same purpose for which the permission to stay in Georgia was granted.

    The application for deferring the obligation to leave Georgia and the supporting documents shall be submitted to the Agency in accordance with the procedure established for submitting an application for a residence permit in Georgia.

    For deferring the obligation to leave Georgia, you can apply to the Public Service Hall, territorial office of the Public Service Development Agency or apply online.
