The Minister of Justice has inaugurated the 70th community center in Dusheti

On November 8th, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Justice – Tea Tsulukiani inaugurated the 70th community centre and wedding venue in the city of Dusheti.

The Minister congratulated the residents of Dusheti on the opening of the new community centre, noting that it represents a significant improvement over the previous Soviet-era infrastructure of the Dusheti territorial office. The new building is a modern, European-style facility that will serve the needs of the community.

Attending the inauguration were the Mayor of Dusheti, Zurab Sekhniashvili, representatives from local government, invited guests and community members.

Dusheti Community Center will provide services to 20000 residents from 200 surrounding villages. The facility will enable residents to quickly and conveniently access more than 200 public and private sector-provided services without having to leave their residential area. Within the community center, residents will also be able to use the services of the National Probation Agency. The collaboration between probation officers and community centers was a decision made by the Minister of Justice with the aim of completely eliminating the stigmatization associated with former prisoners and individuals using probationary services. The center also houses services provided by the National Bureau for Enforcement. It is an exemplary model of successful collaboration between the public and private sectors, as it offers a range of services such as those provided by “Magti” and “Liberty Bank”, allowing pensioners to access their pensions without having to travel outside of Dusheti and young individuals to enjoy free wireless internet services. Along with local residents, visitors will also benefit from available banking services, around-the-clock connectivity to the world through a mobile operator, wireless internet access and a free Skype room. The recently opened community center features a library equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, where both printed publications and electronic books will be housed. The library at Dusheti Community Center is larger than any other library in other community centers and it can accommodate events. The library also includes a reading room for visitors.

Together with the community center in Dusheti, a new wedding house has been opened, and the wedding of a local couple, Ana Pridonashvili and Davit Baratashvili, has been officially registered. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Justice – Tea Tsulukiani and other invited guests. This was the first such event in Dusheti to take place in a dedicated wedding hall, which is decorated with festive decor. Until now, Dusheti Municipality did not have a dedicated venue for weddings. Couples had to apply to the local office of the Public Service Development Agency for marriage registration, which took place without any solemn ceremony and the territorial office was located on old Soviet-era premises. From now on, couples will have access to a dedicated wedding house in Dusheti, featuring a wedding hall adorned with festive decorations, a terrace with pillars and a courtyard.

The opening ceremony of the Dusheti Community Center was a true celebration for the attendees. Together, the presenter, entertainers and illusionists ensured the festive atmosphere for local residents through an entertainment show program. As part of the celebratory event marking the opening of the community center in Dusheti, a fun trivia contest on the activities and services offered by the community center was held, followed by a gala concert after the official opening.
