The Public Service Development Agency hosted a working meeting with members of the Advisory Council to the Interagency Coordination Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The discussion focused on enhancing the accessibility of the Agency’s services for persons with disabilities. During the meeting, participants reviewed specific recommendations aimed at improving access to public services for persons with disabilities and discussed practical approaches for their implementation in the near future.
Deputy Minister of Justice Giorgi Dgebuadze spoke about inclusive initiatives implemented across the Ministry’s system and highlighted the importance of ensuring the active participation of persons with disabilities in the activities of the public institution.
Chairperson of the Public Service Development Agency, Rusudan Kokhodze, informed the audience about the services offered by the Agency to the persons with disabilities designed to meet their needs.
As one of the country’s leading public service providers, the PSDA prioritizes simplifying access to public services for persons with disabilities and expanding opportunities for receiving those remotely.
The meeting was attended by Rati Ionatamishvili, Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, and Niko Tatulashvili, Head of the Human Rights Department of the Administration of the Government of Georgia.
The Interagency Coordination Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was established by a Government Decree in 2021. An Advisory Council operates under the Committee, with the primary objective of ensuring the active participation of organizations representing persons with disabilities in decision-making process and developing recommendations for the Coordination Committee.
